This competition is promoted by Havant and Waterlooville Swimming Club, which is affiliated to the South East Region
ASA, and will be held under Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) laws and ASA Technical Rules of Racing ENTRIES
This is a licensed level 3 competition. Priority will be given to those entering a full BAGCAT series
Upper limit qualifying times apply, time applicable on the British ASA Rankings database. Swimmers having achieved
times faster than those listed may be accepted for time trials in those events in which they are too fast, as long as
such requests are made ahead of the event closing date. Time trialists will not attain points for either individual or team
awards, but BAGCAT scores can be achieved.
Ages are as at midnight 23 November 2014. It is the swimmer's responsibility to ensure his/her eligibility for each
event and all swimmers must have class 2 competitive ASA membership. Swimmers will be distributed in heats
from the submitted entry times. Improved times will not be accepted after the entries have been received. All Events
will be swum on a heat declared winner (HDW) basis.
NO ENTRY CARDS will be used to regulate the operation of the meet. Notification of acceptance/rejection of entries
will be made electronically to each club.
All entries should be submitted electronically. An administration charge of 50p per event will be made for any entry not
submitted electronically (including all requests for time trials which must be submitted separately).
CLOSING DATE for entries is Saturday 1 November 2014.
Awards will be made in the age groups:- 9yrs, 10yrs, 11yrs, 12yrs, 13yrs and 14yrs. The awards will be based on a
swimmer’s overall performance in the British Age Group Categories (BAGCATS) using FINA points. 4 swims to count:-
200m F/S, 100m IM, best 50m and best 200m in either Back, Breast or Fly.
Top Club Trophy Points for the Top Visiting Club Trophy will be awarded on the following basis (after any time trials
have been removed):
1st: 8 pts; 2nd: 7 pts; 3rd: 6 pts; 4th: 5 pts; 5th: 4 pts; 6th: 3pts; 7th: 2 pts; 8th: 1 pt
In the event of a tie the award will be decided on the basis of the highest number of first places or, if necessary, second
places. Awards and trophies will be presented at the end of the final session.
The decision of the referee on all aspects of the gala is final. Matters other than those under the control of the referee,
not covered by these conditions, shall be decided upon and resolved by the promoter. By submitting an entry,
participants have deemed to agree to such decisions.
